Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning Your Glasses

1. Rinse with Lukewarm Water

Rinse your lenses under lukewarm running water to remove dust and debris. Avoid hot water, which can damage lens coatings.

2. Use a Drop of Dish Soap

Apply a tiny drop of lotion-free dish soap to each lens and gently rub it in with your fingers.

3. Rinse Again

Rinse off the soap with lukewarm water.

4. Gently Dry with a Lint-Free Cloth

Use a microfiber or lint-free cloth to gently pat lenses dry. Avoid using facial tissues or paper towels which can scratch lenses.

5. Clean the Frame

With a soft cloth or cotton swab, wipe down the frames, nose pads, and temple tips to remove oils and buildup.

Updating Review to 4.5 (using 5 so it doesnt round down): Was contacted and they were able to get me a new set of frames clip ons.   While they didnt have to and it was likely in part due to this Review, but that does show they listen and act on feedback when they can. Started going when I moved to the area a few years ago.  I like the doc and the staff a lot.  Never had an issue in person, but i have had 2 jssues: 1. Getting my prescription for an outside set of frames was a pain and took a bit, but i got it, 2. If you buy a set of frames, make sure you leave with all of the items that should be included.  If you don't have a piece and they say they'll order it, you're not going to get it.  My frames were missing a set of the magnetic shades it comes with and I was told they'd order me a replacement set of the shades.   That was in November 2024, I stopped following up in January.

She answers my questions with detail, gives me copies of my eye scans when requested so I can post them on social media, and doesn't try to upsell me on frames or contacts. I've been coming to Dr. Chae at New York Style Optometry since about 2008, when my parents and I first realized I was having trouble seeing the whiteboard at school. Dr. Chae has been my optometrist ever since, fitting me for glasses and then later contact lenses so I could play sports without worrying about glasses on my face. She's consistently professional, communicates about the status of my eye health very clearly, and is also just a lovely person. I live in NYC now, but I still see Dr. Chae for my yearly eye exam whenever I visit my family in LA!

This lady who answered a call snapped and said "No, Okay? Thank you."  and hung up!  She didn't give me a chance to ask more questions or say thanks back to her.
